Today we glossed our songs. It is due by the end of class tomorrow. We are going to the computer lab tomorrow to type the gloss if you want and type Deaf Culture Contact papers. Holiday signs packet was handed out, get one from the wire rack. Check the board for new upcoming Deaf events.

There was no fingerspelling quiz today due to the shortened periods for the girls soccer recognition and celebration. We will use this same list for next week.

We went to the computer lab and printed the words for our song assignment. See your assignment sheet for details.

Period 3 - We watched a classifier presentation. Go to http://www.jal.cc.il.us/ipp/Classifiers/
and watch the demonstrations and movies for all the classifiers listed. There will be a quiz and you are expected to know the material.

Period 5 - We watched the film "See What I Mean" and answered questions about the movie. CHeck out the movie and get the worksheet from Mrs. G.

I showed a sample of a videotape that is produced by Seattle Central Community College's ASL interpreting program. I will get ordering information for anyone that is interested in having one as a study tool.

Period 3 - We experienced technical difficulities and reviewed vocabulary.

Today we took a fingerspelling quiz from the practice list #8.

I drop one fingerspelling quiz grade each quarter, and a new quarter started on Monday, so you only need to schedule a make-up if you have missed more than one in a quarter.

We took the quiz for Chapter 2 of Seeing Voices. If you checked out a book, give it back to me so I can check it back in. Schedule a time during 1st lunch or after school for you to make up the quiz. You may use your notes during the quiz.

We did a following directions activity that (hopefully!) resulted in a six-sided snowflake.

Today many students finished Chapter 2 from Seeing Voices and took a quiz on the reading. Those that are not finished checked out a book to finish at home tonight and will take the quiz tomorrow. You have the same number of days that you were absent to make it up.

Progress reports were sent home. They are due back with a parent signature by Wednesday, November 24th. Ask me for yours.

Today we handed back papers and posted a group grade report. We did an in class activity describing people. You will need to check out a Signing Naturally videotape and complete unit 8, Comprehension, "Personal Data" and "Missing Number" to make up this activity. Study vocabulary list #8 to prepare for the test on Thursday, 11-4.

Period 3 - Write 15 sentences in English using your Unit 8 vocabulary. Skip lines and then gloss into ASL using a different color and all capitals for your gloss. Be prepared to sign them in front of the class. We wrote the best sentences onto slips to be used when we sign them in front of the class and reviewed vocabulary to prepare for the test. Get 3 yellow slips from Mrs. G.

Vocabulary test for unit 8 is Thursday, November 4th.

Period 3 - We finished the packet for unit 6. Everyone signed with partners. To make this part of the packet up, you will need to schedule a time during 1st lunch or after school to sign to Mrs. G. We played search and destroy to review the vocabulary from unit 8.
